“Fate gives all of us three teachers, three friends, three enemies, and three great loves in our lives. But these twelve are always disguised, and we can never know which one is which until we’ve loved them, left them, or fought them.”
-Gregory David Roberts, Shantaram: A Novel
(Big Recommendation: Possibly the most engaging book I’ve ever read)

This picture is so freaking precious!
Shantaram’s size has always intimidated me. But this quote makes me feel that I kind of need to rethink that whole “size matters” philosophy.
Thank you!!
Yes it’s superlong. 1000+ pages – but I read it in a week. I know its cliche to say, but you really can’t put it down. If you’ve recently been to India – Mumbai especially – you will absolutely love it. I actually stayed in the same hostel/guesthouse he does in Mumbai. The friend I traveled with was reading the book at the time and insisted on it. It’s just as crummy as he describes, but great location.
It left me speechless
Thanks for sharing
